Judith Surowiec grew up and
married in Buffalo, NY. Inspired
by her artist mother and the
work of Charles Burchfield, she
studied art at SUNY and
graduated with a degree in Art
Education. Judith and her family
moved from state to state
affording her the opportunity to
meet new artists and become
involved with the arts community.
During one move to Atlanta (there were four) she began studying with Joseph Perrin. Her work made
a dramatic change. Now working with acrylics and
colored pencil, she paints with colorful energy.
Sometimes she folds or crumples a canvas for the
challenge and surprise. This process adds a unique
"signature" to her paintings. Judith's work reflects
her thoughts and experiences.
